County Extension Agents Colin Massey and Ryan Neal will provide information about fruit tree pruning objectives and method\,s along with a hands-on pruning demonstration. Following the demonstration\, anyone who feels comfortable can try their hand at pruning some of Tri Cycle's fruit trees with Colin and Ryan's guidance and help. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own hand pruners to help us tackle pruning the more than 50 fruit trees on the TCF property. For this year's day of service\, volunteers will be honoring Dr. King’s legacy by helping Tri Cycle prep for this coming growing season. We will begin work at noon and afterward\, we’ll all come together for a community meal in Trinity’s Fellowship Hall. DESCRIPTION:Fayetteville Roots Festival has been a long time supporter of Tri Cycle Farms. This year the Roots Fest team is pulling out all the stops to put on a super family friendly production on Sunday.\n\nLocal musicians\, Chooch ft. Adams Collins and Tom Anderson of Arkansauce will be rockin' some tunes for this afternoon of food\, drinks\, gardens and community engagement! \nCulinary delights will be served by local chefs Haley O'Brien of the Local Table\, Heather Artripe of Ozark Natural Foods\, Daymara Baker of Rockin' Baker and Matt Feyerabend of Pure Joy Ice Cream.\n\nEach chef will have a tent to serve their dish from\, each featuring a seasonal vegetable or ingredient found growing in the Tri Cycle Farms gardens. Each tent will include a "discussion topic" surrounding Tri Cycle Farms' initiatives centered around food waste\, food insecurity\, health and food recovery!\n\nHaley O'Brien and Heather Artripe will each do a short cooking demo in-between musical sets. You don't want to miss out on this opportunity to learn from these amazingly creative and talented chefs! \nThis is a family friendly event and kids are encouraged to attend! In addition to music and food\, this event will feature a visit from the Greedy Goats as well as our very own Tri Cycle Farms City Chicks!\n\n\nPre-purchased tickets are on sale for $20. DESCRIPTION:The City of Fayetteville and Tri Cycle Farms will host a free Slow Roll bike ride Saturday July 13th. Meet-up from 10-11 am and ride from 11-noon with social time on the farm to follow. Light snacks and refreshments will be available. \nWhat's a Slow Roll you ask? It's a group bike ride where the point is not to race but to relax and enjoy good company and good vibes. Slow Rolls have become hugely popular in cities across the US because they appeal to such a wide audience. It's not just cyclists at these rides so you can leave your spandex at home 😉 \nThe pace is about 6 mph and the route will be a FLAT easy loop through neighborhoods and the agri farm areas. \nDon't have a bike? DESCRIPTION:Right after our Herb Walk with Jenny Dietzel around Tri Cycle Farms\, join Heather Artripe of Ozark Natural Foods for a deliciously herb focused class. In this class we will talk about a few common herbs that are easy to grow at home or that are readily available locally. We will talk about what herbs pair well together\, other dishes that pair well with them\, as well as how to store them so you get as much use out of the herbs as possible. This class will be packed full of flavor. Some herbs that will make an appearance are cilantro\, parsley\, mint\, rosemary\, basil\, dill\, thyme\, just to name a few. She has been cooking her whole life with the guidance of her peers\, her family\, and her friends. Her favorite culinary herb would be an even tie between rosemary\, basil\, dill\, parsley\, and cilantro.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for cloudy skies and mild temperatures\, a prefect time to get out here and help us weed the gardens. We are gearing up for planting but there is a lot to be done in the gardens before we're ready to put more plants in the ground. Come on out to help with weeding and cleaning! \nPlease make sure to bring water and wear layered\, comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. \nWe always encourage volunteers to walk\, ride your bike\, or take the bus to our site.
