SUMMARY:Natural Health Class "Salve Making-The Must-Have Herbal Tool"
DESCRIPTION:Tri Cycle Farms presents Jenny Dietzel's Natural Health Class "Salve Making-The Must-Have Herbal Tool" on Saturday\, December 10th\, from 10:00am-12:00pm. \n\nThis informative 2-hour class teaches the participants how to make an herbal salve. Salve is made from herbs soaked or simmered in oil with beeswax added to help it harden. It is a great way to get an herb onto the skin and is recommended for cuts\, scrapes\, stings\, bites and rashes as well as other conditions like dry lips or skin. Learn how to make a simple salve from a single healing herb or combine herbs into a formula for their synergistic effects. Many of them can be grown in your own yard or window boxes. Some of them grow everywhere already. Makes a good sized batch for sharing.\n\nClasses will be held in the Rock House at Tri Cycle Farms. Please park in the gravel lot at Trinity United Methodist Church\, at the intersection of Sycamore and Garland\, and carefully take the crosswalk to arrive at the Rock House. \nCost: $20

SUMMARY:Build a no-till garden in less than one hour with Patrice Gros
DESCRIPTION:During this hands on workshop\, we will build an organic garden bed using a no-till method. By not tilling the bed\, we will not just save time\, but we will also keep the soil structure in its natural state. We will then plant vegetable crops together on these permanent beds. \nWHEN: Saturday\, April 30th from 2:00-4:00pm \nWHERE: Tri Cycle Farms (1705 N Garland Ave) \nPARK: at Trinity United First Methodist Church and use the crosswalk to meet at the red barn. \nDONATION: $10 suggested \nREGISTER: http://goo.gl/forms/8VPIQKx4xW \nAbout the teacher: \nPatrice Gros of Foundation Farm was raised in Marseille\, France and lived there until he graduated from college with a degree in business. He went on to obtain his MBA from UCLA and pursued a career in corporate finance and personal money management. In 1993\, with a new home in Ojai\, CA and an acre of land peppered with fruit trees\, Patrice had his first vegetable garden. There it was: heart-shaped and barely 100 square-feet\, and with it\, a deep life transformation of the most gentle and unexpected kind.\nToday\, many seasons and thousands of hours of raking\, hoeing\, mulching and harvesting later\, Patrice’s gardening passion is alive and well; only the scale has changed. Patrice now runs Foundation Farm\, a 5 acre certified organic farm in the Arkansas Ozarks not far from Eureka Springs. The farm is a no-till\, highly sustainable\, organically certified operation which supports his family. All of the farm’s 25\,000 lbs of produce harvested yearly are sold within a 50 mile radius. The farm attracts many visitors and groups. The farm crew is a mixture of volunteers and season-long trainees enrolled in Foundation Farm’s farming school.\nPatrice is also the founder of the Eureka Springs Farmers’ Market.
