Starting Your Garden Indoors
February 20, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
If you want to begin a garden for the coming season, this workshop will help teach you how to get started! We will first talk about various potting soil formulas, soil amendments, and fertilizers. We’ll then do some hands-on seeding and discuss germination and growing requirements for various types of seeds, along with additional tips on transplanting seedlings. If there’s time, we’ll also take some vegetative cuttings of perennials.
Herb will bring along potting soil, amendments, fertilizer, and containers, and we can all help plant seeds for the garden at Tri Cycle. However, we also encourage participants to bring along their own seeds to plant for their own garden! This will be an interactive workshop and we encourage everyone to share their own knowledge and experience.
The workshop will be on January 24, 2015 at 10:00 am, in the hoop house and garden at Tri Cycle Farms (1705 N. Garland Ave). Please park at the Trinity United Methodist Church across the street and walk on over to the farm. There will be no charge for the class, but donations to go toward Tri Cycle's educational programming are appreciated.
